MusicAbout a month ago, Pauline Slangen (19) won the talent show “Regi Academy” and Lommelse was already allowed to sing to a packed Sportpaleis, with the help of her “teacher” Regi. “I don’t mind that he sets the standards very high, he must be very good.” Although the singer has now received a bit of a scrape: “From people who would have preferred to see Amber win. But people will always have an opinion of you.”
Most dreams are deceptive, but Pauline Slangen’s dreams come true. On October 30, the winner of VTM 2 “Regi Academy” will perform on the grand stage of Antwerp Sportpaleis during the concert “Regi – Kom Wat Dichterbij”. But there’s no doubting the tension: “I was more nervous before the game than I was before my performance at Sportpaleis,” laughs Pauline.
“I didn’t know then if I was going to win or not. Now I’m there anyway, which makes me feel really cold. Even though I’ve never sung in front of a lot of people. But I don’t want to think too much beforehand what might happen. Wrongly. I know ‘Thousand Stars’ by heart, but now I’m still practicing this act, which I hope will catch people’s throats.”
