Amsterdam Schiphol Airport recently announced that Transport numbers Released before June 2024. These figures provide a detailed overview of passenger, flight and cargo traffic. The figures show that the Dutch have left the bad weather behind them en masse and are flying to and from Spain. This has led to a significant increase in passenger traffic between Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and various destinations in Spain.
In June 2024, Schiphol will welcome almost 6 million passengers, including passengers who were the start or end of their journey and transit passengers. This represents a 5% decrease compared to the 5.7 million passengers in June 2023. However, the passenger figure of 6.5 million in June 2019 has not yet been reached.
The top five destinations for outbound travellers were Spain, Great Britain, Italy, Greece and the United States. This data shows that European holiday destinations remain very popular, as well as strong trade links with the UK and the US.
In June 2024, there were a total of 40,857 flights at Schiphol Airport, an increase of 5% compared to the same period in 2023. Of these flights, 33,555 were to European destinations and 7,302 to intercontinental destinations. These figures show that the majority of flights at Schiphol are still to Europe, underlining the airport’s important role as a European hub.
We also looked at Spanish transport numbers Around June 2024 from Spanish airport manager Aena. These figures show that Amsterdam Schiphol also served the highest number of passengers with 634,806 passengers travelling to and from Schiphol. Eindhoven Airport came in second with 197,913 passengers, and Rotterdam Airport came in third with 109,096 passengers.
