Substitutes make the difference for Anderlecht in official match against Wolfsburg, but above all there is a big concern

Many of the new arrivals didn’t get to see the fans in action at RSC Anderlecht, so Brian Riemer had to make do with what was available to him. He brought in Colin Coosmans in goal and Ingwanda and Ndiaye in defence.

To make matters worse, Reimer saw another player withdraw before half-time, Francis Amuzu. He could be out for weeks or months with a knee problem: a new setback.

In the first half, Anderlecht tried several times with Verschaeren and Vazquez, but they lacked the momentum to embarrass the team of former Anderlecht player Sebastian Bornau.

On the other hand, the strike was successful. Mohamed Amoura – last year at Union SG – managed to walk several times and after the first warning the second time was successful: the push was perfectly executed under Coosmans and the score was 0-1 after fifteen minutes.

As the first half drew to a close, Thomas had a unique chance to make it 0-2, but found Coosmans in his path. The purple and white goalkeeper also stood out several times in the second half after quick attacks by the Wolves.

Up and down in five crazy minutes

With Dreyer and Dolberg contributing, among others, after the hour mark, Anderlecht started to play faster. Dolberg was also good immediately to equalise, then Angulo managed to slide in an empty net to make it 2-1.

Purple and white are on and off in five minutes. Anderlecht also had some more chances to increase the score, but they failed to do so. However, overall, one can be satisfied with the second half in particular.
