Game reviewAccording to the makers, “Tamarak Trail” is a dice-oriented role-playing roguelike. This is a strategic game of chance where you take turns playing against the computer. You build a deck throughout the game, from which, provided you make sensible choices, you can assemble a better deck. In this game, the deck is not a set of cards, but the twelve sides of two dice – or more as you progress through the game. This makes it a little different.
Those wise choices to build a strong deck are the essence of the game. But especially as a beginner, it's not always clear what is a good or bad choice. The introduction explains the basics, but it certainly doesn't take you by the hand. In addition, it also depends a little on the choices you get, because they are random. Tile aspects can work in synergy and you can create very powerful dice, but you also need a little luck to roll the right combinations. They are dice after all, aren't they?
Roguelike
As long as you can keep your character alive, you will continue on your chosen path. However, once you die, you have to go back to the beginning and revert to the two simple starting dice. However, the experience collected and perks unlocked along the way will still remain, but you will have to unlock them each time. You do this by traveling far enough along your chosen path that you should be lucky enough to get it as a potential reward.
With each move, you can not only choose additional sides of the dice, but you can also gain additional dice as well as 'cores'. These cores give you an additional advantage with each throw, such as extra regeneration at the end of your turn or an additional bonus to your armor.
One path is not the same as the other
Each time you have to choose which path to follow from a few options. You can know what types of events you'll encounter, but you never know what they'll actually involve until you choose them. On the other hand, monsters (almost) always adapt to your dice level at that moment. On your way you will encounter monsters, but also puzzles, a fireplace in which you can restore souls, and an event in which you have to make MMO-like choices that can then provide an advantage in your further path or to your character in general. Finally, you can also earn additional coins to expand your base station, for example.
Every part of your path will be different. You will also have different sides to your dice each time. This makes it a little different every time. Sometimes harder, sometimes easier.

Throughout the game you'll receive additional tips and explanations, but there's definitely enough room to discover things on your own and develop your own style. The pictures are nice and the music is not annoying. You can play the game at your leisure and pause or log out whenever you want. All of this makes the game very easy to use while keeping you engaged.
From us, “Darb Tamraq” received a well-deserved 7/10.
