Ten Tips for a Successful Rock Werchter!

Now the Rock Werchter meadow is still clean and sprawling, but that won’t last long. Within a week, the village would once again be transformed into the music center of the Low Countries for a few days. In addition to standout artists like Foo Fighters, Dua Lipa, Måneskin and Lenny Kravitz, there is much more to come. To reduce the stress of your selection (or make it worse), we give you ten tips for making it a quality four-day event.

Thursday, July 4

Galen Ngonda | Barn • 1:00pm – 1:40pm

One of the softest voices in the edition may open his classes at The Barn on Thursday. The British soul singer Galen Ngonda He was discovered by the prestigious Daptone Records and is currently releasing his debut album Come and love me Playing in the hearts of many music lovers. The authenticity shines through in the polished sound he worked on tirelessly for several years. Jalen Ngonda is now coming to Rock Werchter attracting many new fans.

Evje de Visser | Barn • 2:20pm – 3:10pm

The Dutchwoman has been living in Belgium for a while and has already managed to build a large fan base here with her Dutch-language music. During her performances, she is accompanied by several musicians and two background singers with whom she performs fun arm movements, without the musical performance having to compromise on quality. You can expect some old hits like “Scheef” and “Lange Vinnen”, but also new songs like “Vlammen” and perhaps some songs that have not yet been released.

Kingfisher | Slope • 3:00pm – 3:35pm

The banjo will return to Rock Werchter this summer thanks to the Irish company KingfisherIf the rave reviews at the popular Eurosonic showcase are to be believed, these newcomers have a golden future ahead of them. Their music is somewhat reminiscent of Mumford & Sons, Bear’s Den and Dermot Kennedy, but still sounds very unique and fresh. This will no doubt be a huge hit on The Slope.

Johnny Marr | Club C 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

The Brit was one of the most important members of The Smiths, but his name can also be linked to The The, the Pretenders and even Hans Zimmer. Tom Odell | Main Stage 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Tom Odell He can be seen on Rock Werchter’s main stage on Friday in the early evening and will no doubt be sitting behind his piano to perform his huge hit “Another Love.” However, the Brit has a lot more to offer than that one-liner, as he released a powerful new album earlier this year. Perhaps the often delicate and intimate songs are better suited to a cozy setting than a large meadow. On the other hand, we hope that the rising sun will provide new energy, making the beautiful piano music more layered.

Saturday, July 6

No directive | Barn • 1:00pm – 1:50pm

The boy band is back in Werchter! There is no guidance, a quartet from London, share a love of 90s R&B and pop. The boys have been noticed on TikTok for covers of Usher and Drake, among others, but nowadays they mainly focus on their own material. To do this, they entered the studio with Victoria Monet, who in the past has helped create singles for Ariana Grande and Chris Brown. At Rock Werchter, expect an entertaining folk show featuring rehearsed dance steps and catchy R&B music!

South River Band | The Slope • 1:40pm – 2:15pm

Rock fans will once again get their money’s worth at Rock Werchter this year, thanks in part to: Southern River Band. The Australian company prefers not to let the guitars do the talking and never puts less than one hundred percent power on the stage. In their home country they have become an indispensable part of the stages, and if they rock the floorboards at The Slope with the same dedication and enthusiasm, they will undoubtedly be popular in our region. Horns, beer in hand and let’s dance!

Avril Lavigne | Main stage • 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM

Pop punk icon fans Avril Lavigne The Canadian singer-songwriter will be gathered in front of the main stage on Saturday as she stops by her Greatest Hits Tour. That means the audience will be able to sing along to “Sk8er Boi,” “Complicated” and “Girlfriend,” among others. The singer has been away for a long time as she battles Lyme disease, but she has been releasing some new music in recent years. With this new music, she stopped last year at Brussels Forest National where she gave a fun and dazzling show that was a beautiful harbinger of rock and roll.

On Sunday afternoon, Rock Werchter can get ready for a heavy dose of hardcore punk from the US coastal city of Santa Cruz! The band has already toured with greats like Deftones and Turnstile, was on the bill at Coachella and has a very vocal fan following with Post Malone.
