Tesla ordered 4,000 cakes from a local bakery in California. But Elon Musk's car company did not receive them and did not pay the amount due. After a social media message reached the press, Musk agreed and paid $2,000 (1,845 euros).
Tesla ordered 2,000 pies on Valentine's Day from Giving Pies, manager Voahangy Rasetarinera's bakery in San Jose, California. It must be delivered by the following Tuesday and Thursday. But something went wrong with the payment, and after a back-and-forth, Tesla doubled the order. Tesla said cost was not an issue. But payment did not come. The order was then completely cancelled.
Voahangy Rasetarinera complained about this on social media and it reached the press. Everyone should always be able to count on Tesla doing its best, Elon Musk responded on his own platform. The Tesla CEO has kept his word. He was duly paid $2,000 (€1,845) in compensation for the orders Tesla had to reject. Musk also wanted to place a new order for 3,600 cakes, but Racitarenera said he “unfortunately” didn't have room for that. After she complained, she was ordered to support her.
