The BSVV football club will have its own facility. Space for a library and more sustainability for MFA De Spil in Bovensmeld: “A long-awaited dream”

De Spil village hall in Bovensmilde can continue to be sustainable. The library can also be located at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The results stem from the decision of BSVV Football Club to build its own facility at the Bovensmilde Sports Complex.

“Owning its own facility is a long-held dream for BSVV. However, it is also an exciting decision because the association is committed to the costs associated with the investment for a long period of time,” says Gerard Gilling on behalf of BSVV.

The Football Club is pleased to have sufficient support among its members to make this decision. He added: “We are still awaiting administrative approval for these plans, but we have full confidence in that.”

According to council member Rico Schanz, the Dorpshuis de Spil is important for the quality of life in the village. “Spil is widely used. We are pleased that it is now possible to make it more sustainable and that a solution will be found for the library.

The BSVV football club is now located in the MFA de Spil. BSVV is creating two referees’ locker rooms, a meeting room, a ballroom and a canteen in its new facility. With this move, BSVV makes way for other social activities such as the library and the good function of the village hall.

Sustainability

The municipal council will take a decision on the sustainability and redevelopment proposal of MFA De Spil in mid-2024. Before BSVV Football Club can actually start construction, the municipal council must approve the plans and go through the permit process.
