The Eurostar passenger terminal at Brussels South/Midi Station will undergo a major renovation in the summer of 2025. The number of seats will be expanded, comfort will be improved and more shops will be added.

This station is where tickets and baggage are checked for passengers using the Eurostar from Brussels to London. After renovation, the number of seats must be increased to 600. Toilets and lighting will also be improved. New fast food stores with an additional area of 200 square meters will also be established in the station. In addition, a new security system will be installed at Customs in May with facial recognition. The work is expected to be completed in the summer of 2025, Eurostar reports.

Amsterdam Central

Not only is work underway on the Eurostar station in Brussels, but there is also an extensive renovation underway in Amsterdam. From June, there will be no direct Eurostar flights from the Netherlands to London for six months. This decision was taken last November by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management after consultation with all parties concerned.

Due to the refurbishment of Amsterdam Central Station, the current station at the end of the platform at track 15 has to be moved. This is where tickets, passports and baggage are checked and where passengers can wait. The new location for this at Amstelpassage cannot be completed until December 2024.

As Amsterdam cannot provide facilities for the Eurostar, the Brussels-South/Midi area is the place to conduct passport and baggage checks during this period. This means that travelers spend approximately half an hour to an hour longer on the road, which means additional transportation is needed. They must also take into account any inconvenience caused by working there.
