This weekend, it was announced that the Haas team had requested the right to review the outcome of the US Grand Prix. They disagree with the lack of fines for exceeding lane limits. The FIA has now shared more information on the matter, with many teams almost required to report to stewards.
Next Wednesday, trustees will consider the case filed by the Haas group. The case concerns the end of the race and Williams driver Alexander Alban. This would concern the absence of additional penalties for exceeding track limits, but is still unclear. Williams must report to the stewards, but the same applies to the Aston Martin and Red Bull teams.
What Haas intends to achieve by this is not entirely clear. Nico Hulkenberg finished eleventh in Austin, a race characterized by track limitations. Alban finished ninth and would drop out of the top ten due to an additional penalty, which would have cost Hulkenberg a point. It’s not entirely clear why Aston Martin and Red Bull need to report. At Red Bull it could be Sergio Perez pushing track limits.
