Last weekend, a new specialty store was opened in the outlet center in Maasmechelen Village. Halo, the company of entrepreneur Robbert De Wit, offers collections of streetwear, sneakers and jewelry that you won't find anywhere else. The first few days were a huge success for the original concept, which so far can only be found in Hasselt.
Building on his passion for fashion, entrepreneur Robbert De Wit from Looise gained experience in retail in Antwerp. He translated that knowledge six years ago into his own work in Hasselt: HALO. “From the beginning, we chose high-end brands with a certain amount of exclusivity,” he says. “It's about trendy clothing and sneakers that you won't find anywhere in the region. Our customers are people who are looking for 'something special.'”
These customers now know where to find Halo on Ridderstraat. “The public who loves our style is very curious about the new discoveries we have made at home and abroad,” says the director. “We are constantly expanding the range in our store. At the same time we focus on… Online storeWhich represents about 90% of our volume. “It's sometimes strange to realize that we are receiving orders from all over the world.”
New in the village
Anyone who talks about high-end fashion brands automatically comes to Maasmechelen Village. “We have now opened a second shopping point here, with a very complementary offer of single brand stores,” says Robert de Wit. “We offer collections of around 30 brands of streetwear, sneakers and accessories that you won't find in other stores. Even though these brands have a separate sales point here, we remain distinct. Halo is actually the first multi-brand store in Maasmechelen is the first village in its own right. “This obviously creates a lot of interest, because it was very crowded here the first few days.”
A highlight of the store is the Drool jewelery collection, designed and handcrafted by Maxine Claessens. “At Halo you will find our ‘custom line’ of sterling silver jewelry that we developed exclusively for this store,” says the designer. “Designing and producing on behalf of the client is a specialty we drool over.”
The new Halo store in Maasmechelen will be open until the end of April. “And then we'll see,” Robert de Wit keeps all options open.
