Belgian hospitals received an average of 227.3 Corona patients per day over the past seven days, 3 percent less than the previous period. Confirmed cases of the virus rose slightly, according to preliminary figures released by the Sciensano Health Institute Monday morning.
Every day between April 16 and 22, an average of 3,605 people were tested with the covid-19 virus. That’s a slight increase of 2 percent compared to the previous week.
Between April 19 and 25, Belgian hospitals received an average of 227.3 Corona patients per day. This is 3 percent less than the previous seven-day period. The hospital now has 2,886 patients (-4 percent), of whom 888 are in intensive care (-5 percent).
Between April 16 and 22, an average of 39 people died daily from the effects of the virus. This number has remained stable. In total, an estimated 24,024 people have died from the Coronavirus in Belgium since the start of the epidemic.
During the same period, nearly 42,600 tests were performed daily (+4 percent), with a slightly lower positive rate of 9.4 percent (-0.5 percent). At 0.95, the reproduction number remains below 1. The above number indicates that the epidemic is accelerating.
