Director Stany Crets’ Winterrevue – and with Ingeborg as a special guest – premiered on Sunday in Antwerp. Remarkably: it happened in front of a room that seats 800 spectators. This may be the case for a few more hours.
The premiere at Theater Elckerlyc, in the presence of a number of BVs, was the last performance for the time being. The show was shown only twice to the public in the previous days.
On the day of the premiere, Friday, the advisory panel decided that indoor events of more than 200 people could no longer be held from Monday. “One thing was certain from the start,” said director Stanny Crickets (56). We were playing with roof tiles another weekend. Now we’ll say goodbye for a while.”
Media personality Ingeborg (55) is the central figure in the performance Made in Belgium. This way she assumes the role of Queen Mathilde. The decision of the advisory committee was difficult. I’ve never seen Stanny Crickets so emotional.” Ingeborg feels “sad and angry.”
Winter play usually lasts until mid-January 2022. Other shows will take place at a new time, once it becomes clear how long theaters in Flanders need to be closed. (AED)
