No less than 592 athletes will travel to the Olympics in Paris. 66 of them have already won the Olympic title.
With 314 women and 278 men, Team USA is hoping to dominate the Olympic medal list for the fourth consecutive year. In Tokyo, the United States was the big winner with 113 medals, 39 of which were gold.
The selection includes gymnast Simone Biles, basketball player LeBron James, swimmers Katie Ledecky and Caleb Dressel, and sprinters Shakari Richardson and Noah Lyles. The latter two are aiming for a first Olympic title in Paris.
Americans can count on a lot of experience in their selection. 250 athletes have already participated in at least one edition.
122 of them have already won an Olympic medal and 66 of them have won at least one Olympic title. The U.S. team has 23 athletes with multiple Olympic titles to their honors.
At sixteen, gymnast Hesley Rivera is the youngest athlete to qualify for the U.S., while rider Steffen Peters is the oldest at 59. He was already at the 1996 Games in Atlanta.
