“Be careful if you are using a smartphone or tablet running one of the following Android versions: Android 11, 12, 12L, 13 and 14. They appear to be more vulnerable than other devices,” the Federal Police said.
“To trick us, hackers often ask us to perform a certain action, such as downloading a file. But that is not the case here… The vulnerability reported by Google is “zero click”. This means that you will never be able to trick us into “being contacted and Hackers can take control of your device without clicking anything,” explains Commissioner Olivier Bogart.
Google did not announce whether this vulnerability has already been exploited, but the update is supposed to close the vulnerability. “Not all devices can get this update immediately. After all, our smartphones and tablets depend on different manufacturers, so it is their job to spread the update to their devices,” explains Bogart.
It is recommended to check the availability of the update on your smartphone or tablet. “Open Settings and select the System tab. Then click System Update and you will know if this update is available.”
“If this update is not offered, we recommend that you install antivirus software on mobile devices. Because while developers provide a basic solution for protection, updates are needed to protect us from new threats.”
