This is how the Assassin's Creed Infinity Live Service Center works

Rumors have been circulating for a while about Assassin's Creed Infinity, a live port for Ubisoft's historic series. But how exactly does this concept work? Thanks to a new report from Insider Gaming, we know more.

Essentially, Infinity becomes the central hub of the franchise, with every future game tied into it. You can launch games like Assassin's Creed Red, Hexe, and even Invictus directly from Infinity. Insider Gaming claims to have seen demo footage, where powering up from the center takes just a few seconds. The game continues at the same point you left the previous session, like Quick Resume on Xbox. Presumably, you can also quickly switch between different titles.

The primary goal of Infinity is of course a live-action experience, delivered through a contemporary Assassin's Creed story. It should come as no surprise that the Infinity launches in red and includes many of the features typical of the live service.

One feature in Infinity, for example, is The Exchange, or the in-game store, where you can purchase daily or even weekly cosmetic items. Additionally, Infinity offers a sync feature, which allows players to access different “missions” for each game's heroes. These are essentially battle passes with a story, which give players the option to earn all kinds of cosmetic equipment for the characters.

Naturally, the Infinity Center receives constant updates, based on DLC or new releases. With DLC updates, Ubisoft naturally wants to maintain interest in all of the Infinity-related games during periods when no new game is released.

The goal is to release a new Assassin's Creed every two years while the center is active. Smaller experiences appear in between, such as expansions or games like Mirage. Infinity's first game is Assassin's Creed Red, which will be released this year. The Invictus multiplayer experience is planned for 2025. Hexe will follow in 2026.

In addition, there are other projects, including Black Flag Remake (Obsidian project), and Project Nebula (with events in India, the Aztec Empire, and the Mediterranean region). There's also Project Raid, a four-player PvE co-op game and a remake of the little-known Assassin's Creed. Maybe the first game? Or Assassin's Creed 2?
