FamousJoe Exotic, 58, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado Passage, was sentenced to 22 years in prison in 2020. Although this may change soon, because a judge in the so-called 10th District Court has now ruled that his current sentence should be reconsidered.
Joe Exotic had to go to jail in 2020 because he was convicted by a judge for plotting to kill Carol Baskin. Investigations revealed that the ‘Tiger King’ star planned to hire someone to kill his archenemy. In addition to this, Joe was also convicted of committing a series of petty crimes.
new punishment
As a result, Joe was sentenced to 22 years in prison, but it seems that he will soon receive a slightly different sentence. A judge in the 10th U.S. District of Oklahoma District has said that a new sentencing for the ‘Tiger King’ star should be delivered. This is evident from a report by KOCO.
Joe Exotic filed an appeal against the judge’s original ruling a while ago. According to him, it was not legal for Carol Baskin to be present at his trial. Baskin has been described by various authorities as an important witness. So last week, the judge granted Joe’s request to reconsider the case. “An error occurred while interpreting the guidelines. This must now be corrected,” says court documents that have emerged recently. As a result, Joe Exotic’s current prison sentence must be reviewed.
