Premier LeagueYuri Tillmans is back in full swing. The Red Devil was the same again in the breakout game against Manchester United and helped Leicester to a beautiful 4-2 win. “Now we must continue this momentum.”
Leicester City missed their Premier League start with 8 out of 21 and immediately welcomed Manchester United after the international break. It has also been difficult for the visitors in recent weeks, because Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates have only managed to win once in their last four matches. Yuri Tillmans and Timothy Castagne started at Leicester, Ronaldo started at the base at Man United. Because of the heavy traffic on the road, CR7 and his colleagues chose the plane for the flight to Leicester, which is a good…10 minute trip.
From the first minute it was clear that Leicester were more intense in duels. Tillmans and Madison dominated the midfield, and Manchester United surrendered. But the visitors took the lead after less than twenty minutes of football. Not by chance thanks to the super flash – Mason Greenwood hit a universal target with a bar in the top corner.
Leicester didn’t give up and kept their momentum going, although Man United gradually grew into the match. Just half an hour later, the home team scored a well-deserved equalizer, thanks to Yuri Tillmans. After Harry Maguire’s weak defense – which was weak before the break – the Red Devil drew the ball superbly into the far top corner with a pass from Iheanacho. A real gem.
Leicester continued to hold the reins after the first half. Tillmans tried several times from distance – one time more threatening than the other – but in the last quarter the match really exploded. The visiting defense could not get off a corner kick from Tielemans, after which Söyüncü 2-1 shot from close range.
You’d think Manchester United were on the alert, but after a few minutes it’s already leveled. Lindelof put Rashford head-to-head with Schmeichel with a single pass, who had no answer for the England player’s fine finish. But the restless Solskjaer forces could not enjoy this draw for long. A minute later, Vardy was already 3-2 on the board. The visitors were against the board, especially when substitute Dhaka signed 4-2 in overtime.
The Ole Gunnar Solskjaer chair swings a little this way. How long will the Norwegian keep this up?
Tillman: ‘The goal was the intent’
Yuri Tillmans was satisfied with his reaction in Play Sports to Leicester’s victory over Manchester United. “We were there from the start. The fans were great – even though we had a humble start to the season. My goal? It was really the intention. Was it my best goal for Leicester? (laughs) I don’t think so. The cup final was even nicer. But it was a blow. Brilliant, yes. We know we can play good football, and now we have to keep that momentum going.”
