For Formula 1

Norris had an early interest in motorcycle racing, but after his father and brother took him to the Super 1 National Kart Championship round, his focus turned to four-wheel racing. He began his racing career at the age of seven when he took the pole position at his first national event. In 2013, he won the CIK FIA European Championship, the International Super Cup and the WSK Euro Series. The following year, he won the CIK-FIA KF World Championship.

Norris made his auto racing debut in 2014 at the Ginetta Junior Championships. He finished third in the championship, winning four races and winning the Rookie Trophy. Norris entered the newly established MSA Formula Championship in 2015 (now known as the F4 British Championship) and won the championship.

In early 2016, Norris competed in the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand, where he won six and won the championship. Norris then returned to Europe in a Formula Renault 2.0 race, competing in both the Eurocup and the Northern European Cup, winning both. In addition, Norris began a part-time campaign at the BRDC British F3 Championship, winning four of 11 races.

Norris competed full-time at the 2017 European F3 Championships. He went on to win the title with nine wins and two races remaining, his fifth championship title in four years.

In 2018, Norris participated in the FIA ​​F2 Championship full time. Norris won from the pole position in the opening match at the Bahrain International Circuit. He then scored consistent points, but George Russell won the championship.

Formula 1

In early 2017, Norris signed with McLaren as a junior driver. At a test in Hungary, Britain set the fastest time, and at the end of the year Norris became the official McLaren test and reserve driver for the 2018 season. He took part in the official session of the Belgian GB free training. In Formula 1. Norris has run six more training sessions in 2018.

In 2019, Norris was awarded a racing contract with McLaren in association with Carlos Science Jr. of Spain. He earned his first F1 points by finishing sixth in the Bahrain GB. In his first F1 season, Norris finished eleventh in the drivers’ championship with 49 points. His teammate was far behind Science, who had 96 runs, but Norris defeated Science in 11 of 21 races.

McLaren took a good step in 2020. Norris qualified for fourth place in the opening race in Austria and started the race from P3 after a penalty for Lewis Hamilton. In the final lap of the race, Norris set a fast lap time and finished third. Thus he took his first stage in Formula 1. Norris continued to score throughout the season and finished ninth in the championship with 97 points.

After moving to Science Ferrari in 2021, Norris acquired a new teammate at McLaren with Daniel Ricciardo. In the first race in Bahrain, Norris finished in p4 from the podium. He qualified third in the next GP, but that time was canceled because he exceeded the track limit. He started the seventh race and finished third. Britain also finished last on the stage in Monaco and Austria. Norris’ best result came in Monza, where he finished second behind teammate Ricciardo. Personal life

Lando was born in Bristol, and his father was a wealthy retired pension manager. His mother Cisco is from the Flemish region of Belgium. He has two younger sisters (Flo and Cisco) and an older brother (Oliver). Norris speaks a little Flemish Dutch. His family moved to Glestonbury, allowing him to one day become a student and continue his racing career.

Norris now lives in Woking, near McLaren’s headquarters. In an interview, Norris recently said he struggled with his mental health and suffered from depression when he entered F1 in 2019. He is working with McLaren and their partner Mind to deal with those issues.

In his spare time Norris plays many racing simulation games at home, such as Irasing and Formula 1 2021. Cricket, golf and swimming are British hobbies.
