KAA Gent will soon receive their next reinforcement. Journalist Sacha Tavoleri says the arrival of Atsuki Ito is a foregone conclusion.
It was previously announced that the Japanese will move to KAA Gent. The midfielder is to replace the departed Julien De Sart. Now all the details are being published.
Long term contract
KAA Gent saw De Sart move to Qatar, but he didn’t have to look long for a replacement. Japanese midfielder Eto’o comes from Urawa Red Diamonds and is said to be worth around €2m. Eto’o will now undergo his medical with the Buffaloes.
KAA Gent also have a four-year contract ready. Thus, the Japanese pocket has been expanded to four after Daniel Schmidt, Tsuyoshi Watanabe and Daisuke Yokota. The 25-year-old Japanese international will face his first European challenge at KAA Gent.
Success in Asia
In Japan, Eto’o has already enjoyed many successes with Urawa Red Diamonds. He won the Japan Cup and the AFC Champions League, among other things. Wouter Franken will immediately have a replacement for De Sart at his disposal. The midfielder left KAA Gent unexpectedly after a tempting offer from Qatar.
