The Greek air traffic control agency announced on Monday that the mandatory quarantine of travelers from the European Union and the Schengen area will be canceled.
The measure applies to travelers who have been fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus or who have a negative Corona test, which should not exceed 72 hours.
The announcement comes at a time when the southern European country is facing the height of the epidemic with 1,500 new infections and scores of deaths every day.
On Monday, the strict lockdown in force in Greece will also be eased. However, until April 26, there will be restrictions on domestic and international flights.
Travelers from the United Kingdom, the United States, Israel, Serbia and the United Arab Emirates no longer have to go into quarantine for a week after their arrival. So far, in addition to the seven-day quarantine, tourists have also had to pass a negative quarantine for a coronavirus test no more than 72 hours old to submit.
