Trump adviser Steve Bannon on trial for contempt of Parliament Abroad

“All hell is going to fall apart,” Bannon, 67, said in his podcast before storming Parliament House, but he did not explain it to the House committee. The US Department of Justice has stated that Bannon is now indicted over this refusal. He was summoned in mid-October, but protested the superiors’ right to keep certain documents and conversations secret. However, the committee, which is studying in the House of Representatives Trump’s role in storming his supporters from the Capitol, believes that argument no longer holds because Trump is no longer president.

The House of Commons in Parliament recently voted in favor of an incentive for further action by the judiciary. As a strategist, Bannon was a key figure in Trump’s 2016 election victory and in his early years as president. Last year, he was charged with misleading moneylenders to build a wall along the border with Mexico. Trump pardoned Bannon early this year as one of his last acts as president. A judge acquitted him in May after much legal wrangling in this fraud case.

Bannon faces between 30 days and a year in prison, but the legal battle could go on for months or even years, undermining the work of the investigative committee.
