According to The New York Times Several members of Congress have been inundated with calls from TikTok users this week. The protest was sparked by a bill introduced in the US Congress this week.
If passed, the law would require TikTok to sever ties with ByteDance within six months. The Chinese company owns the popular app. If TikTok doesn't sever those ties, the bill would ban the app.
And many politicians say they support the motion. This is what President Biden and others talked about last Wednesday Support Out of bounds.
TikTok later sent out a call to US users: “Let Congress know what TikTok means to you, and tell them to vote no.” Below the message was a button to find politicians and their numbers. You can see in the picture below.
