Beerschot will play in the Jupiler Pro League next season. The club is trying to strengthen itself, but it is now threatened with losing one of its strongholds.
This is about Thibaut Verlinden. The Belgian striker was valuable to Beerschot last season and could mean a lot in the title battle.
He won the NBA Challenger League Player of the Year award as the icing on the cake. It is no secret that many clubs are monitoring him.
On Tuesday morning, it became known that Beerschot definitely wants to keep him and therefore came up with an improved contract. It was a three-year contract.
But according to transfer expert Sascha Tavoleri, Verlinden is on the verge of signing for FC Nuremberg. He is said to have a personal agreement with the German club and has already made clear to the Beerschot board what he wants.
Tavoleri also reported that Verlinden would have rejected proposals from Union SG and Schalke 04.
