Vlaams Belang launches new “Fortress Europe” campaign: “There should be a wall around Europe, legally and in some places physically” | the interior

Van Diken – along with MP Tom Vandendrichi and MP Dries van Langenhof – defended a “wall around Europe”. In its campaign pamphlet, the far-right party put forward fifty policy proposals that would make “Fortress Europe” a reality. “Not out of hatred for people outside our borders, but out of love for people within our borders,” says party leader Tom Van Greiken. According to the party, his proposals are “possible, desirable and realistic.” This relates to supporting the reception in their area, financially, logistically and infrastructurally. In addition, there should be physical barriers at European external borders where there is a high risk of illegal immigration, such as fences, barriers, partitions and electric fences. And for Vlaams Belang, a “smart” surveillance camera must also be installed at the internal border. The party also calls for a withdrawal from the European asylum and immigration policy.

Another striking proposal concerns a guarantee against asylum fraud, where Vlams Belang obtains mustard in Denmark. This means that asylum seekers who start the procedure must pay a deposit in the form of property and money with a total value of more than 2,000 euros. At the end of the procedure, the recognized refugees will receive the deposit.

Finally, Flames Belang wants at least one officer in each police district who specializes in and actively tracks down and arrests illegal residents. In areas where the phenomenon is most acute, she says, there should be a “full service for illegal immigrants”.
