vote. Raymond van Barneveld or Peter Wright, who has the better live song? Tell us | World Darts Championship

World Darts ChampionshipDarts and walking game. This is like bubbles and New Year’s: inextricably linked. And whether we will have great entries again in the World Cup of Darts. But what is the final song? HLN will be looking into the matter in the coming days and needs your help. I had previously preferred the rise of Peter Wright to that of Michael van Gerwen, James Wade, Dimitri van den Bergh and Gary Anderson. Will Wright’s match also beat Raymond van Barneveld?

Don’t want to miss the highlights of the World Cup of Darts and follow the Belgians’ performance in London closely? You can watch all the action at Alexandra Palace live in the coming weeks on VTM2!

On this page you can choose between two numbers in the coming days. The winner always moves on to the next day. Just before the World Cup starts, we’ll find out what you think is the perfect song.

Michael van Gerwen doesn’t seem to be right. But the white-striped Seven Nations Army lost out to the rise of Peter Wright (Pitbull’s “Don’t Stop the Party”). Previously, live songs by James Wade (Elton John’s Still Standing), Dimitri van den Berg (Pharrell Williams’ Happy) and Gary Anderson (‘House of Pain’) have been destroyed. Will Raymond van Barneveld’s song (Eye of the Tiger) be killed? Vote for yourself in our widget below!

How was the selection made?
We’re looking for the best of eleven songs. The initial selection was made by a committee consisting of, among others, commentator Rudi Lansens, co-commentator Eric Clares, and well-known darts fans Sam Gores and Vincent Ference.

Wright tried many steps, each with a certain meaning for itself and a potential impact on the audience. He practices with the radio in the background and when he discovers a new song during this practice session, he imagines what his entrance with that song would be like.

“Don’t Stop the Party” is perfect in this regard: everyone is always on board. The dance was added during a European tour in Germany, when the atmosphere in the room was so good that it spontaneously began shooting fliers across the stage. Wright still has to be careful: the dance has already cost him a sprained ankle.

His nickname “Snakebite” arose from his love and interest in snakes. He himself is like a snake. He says: He prefers to sit in the corner alone. If you leave him alone, everything will be fine. But if you provoke him, he may bite.

There is no story behind “Eye of the Tiger.” Just a great earworm for the guy who doesn’t have a real nickname – Van Barneveld was called “Barney” by his friends long before he even started playing darts.
