Nina Druel did not miss her return. At the World Cup in Cairo, she immediately managed to qualify for the final on beam, despite missing out on vault. Erika Pinkston fared better than the Olympic champion as she finished second in the heats.

Injuries sidelined Nina Druel for a long time, but the Olympic champion in Cairo was able to celebrate her comeback on the uneven bars.

Does she still need to shake some nerves out of her bones? When she jumped onto the bar, Druel had to get off immediately, but that didn't bother her. She did another great workout and finished sixth in the final with a score of 13.033.

Erica Pinkston, Derwell's 16-year-old club teammate, fared better in the qualifiers. With a score of 13.230, she can reach the final as number 2. She also qualified for the floor exercise final (4th place with 12.770).

In the battle for Olympic tickets, two Belgians are vying for a place in Paris. The hardware finals are scheduled to be held on Sunday. After Cairo, three more World Cups will follow in Cottbus, Baku and Doha.

The gymnasts with the highest rank after the four World Cup finals for participants who do not yet have an Olympic ticket can go to the Games.
