Belgium will meet third place in Group E as…
The last matches of the fifth group start at six in the evening, and at the end of those matches we can find out the opponent of the Red Devils in the 1/8 finals. Therefore, the third of group E must be one of the best 4 thirds.
To do this, one of these two conditions must be met:
- Poland beats Sweden
- Slovakia tied with Spain
If one of these conditions is met, Sweden, Slovakia or Spain will take third place in Group E and that country will become the opponent of Belgium on Sunday 27 June in Seville.
If Poland does not win and Spain or Slovakia do, Group E will not achieve any of the top four places. Then the Red Devils do not know their opponent yet in the 1/8 finals at 8 pm and two scenarios remain.
Or Switzerland will be the opponent of Belgium, but this is possible only with the defeat of Portugal against France by three or more goals.
In all other cases, the Red Devils get a third place Group F finish on their plate in the 1/8 Finals. France, Germany, Portugal and Hungary can still finish third in Group F.
Switzerland and the Czech Republic are definitely among the top 4 thirds. Ukraine and Finland still have a chance of reaching the 1/8 finals in third place, but then – as noted above – the results in groups E and F should be in their favour.
* = Qualified for 1/8 . Finals
At this point, a third of A, C, D and F are paid. This means that Belgium currently plays Portugal in Seville on Sunday 27 June at 9pm.
