Also for Europe?
We finally learned more about Zeekr 007, the new electric sedan from Volvo’s sister brand that wants to challenge the established order in the world of electric cars. The Zeekr 007 should travel at least 870 kilometers on a full battery, but you should take that with a grain of salt.
Zeekr is expanding its model range with an electric sedan that should become a formidable competitor to the likes of the Volkswagen ID7, Tesla Model 3, and BYD Seal. The Geely brand decided to reveal the Zeekr 007 step by step and so we have already been able to show the car several times, both from the outside and from the inside. And now the first final specifications are also starting to trickle out into the world. These are very impressive on paper. However, a big “but” applies.
As AutoWeek recently reported, the Zeekr 007 is 4.87 meters long, 1.9 meters wide and 1.45 meters lower. This makes it about 20cm longer than the Model 3, about 10cm shorter than the Volkswagen ID7 and just a few centimeters shorter than the BYD Seal. The sedan stands on what Geely calls the PMA2+ platform, an 800-volt on-board platform derived from Geely’s family of modular SEA platforms.
What else does Zeekr 007 offer in terms of electric cars? A lot on paper. There will be a rear-wheel drive version with a 421-horsepower electric motor and a 645-horsepower all-wheel-drive version with the same electric motor on the rear axle, with the addition of a 224-horsepower version that drives the front wheels. The less powerful but still motorized Zeekr 007 reaches 100 km/h from a standstill in 5.4 seconds. The all-wheel drive version should be able to reach 100 km/h in just 2.84 seconds – that’s very accurate. According to Zeekr, you should be able to recharge the 610km range in just fifteen minutes. violently.
According to Zeekr, 007 is comingStandard range – So to speak – already 688 kilometers with a full battery. the long term It can squeeze at least 870 kilometers out of its battery pack. Please note: These are values that are determined according to the CLTC cycle and therefore are not WLTP numbers. In China, the Zeekr 007 will cost less than 29,300 euros.
It is not yet known whether Zeekr – which offers the 001 and X models in the Netherlands – will also bring the 007 to our part of the world. Given my generation’s desire for expansion, we wouldn’t be surprised if this were the case.
