STAD in The Hague launches the third edition of The Hague Public Space Award (HOP). The competition aims to highlight designers and developers of public spaces and The Hague initiatives for residents, city makers and entrepreneurs in public spaces.
All types of transformations in public spaces over the past four years have a chance to win HOP 2024. Whether it’s a small intervention or a large project, transforming a square, courtyard or roof garden. All projects can be Presenter, From the tree mirror, from the playground to the food forest, from the furniture to the large-scale traffic intersection. Designers, clients and residents can submit their favorite projects until July 28, 2024.
An independent professional jury selects five nominees from among the entries and finally chooses the winner after visiting the sites. In addition, everyone can vote for the Audience Award. The awards will be presented in October 2024.
STAD first organised the HOP conference in 2020. The award was then won by the Loper Oude Centrum proposal. Buitenplaats Ockenburgh (photo) won the Audience Award that year. In 2022, Groene Matties’ mixed vegetable garden won the Jury Award and Buurttuin Zusterstraat the Audience Award.
